Pudgette is a 2005 grey mare by 1991 Kentucky Derby-winner Monarchos out of a Deputy Minister mare. Her bloodline is dominated by Northern Dancer, who is considered the most successful sire in racing history. Northern Dancer won both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes and has headed the sire lists in both the USA and UK. He was the first non-human inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. Pudgette’s pedigree is also influenced by Hyperion, the 1930 English Thoroughbred stallion whose off-spring are replete in the pedigrees of world-class show jumping here and abroad – including Abgar, Lucky Boy, Eros and Jet Run.
