"I’ve had he privilege of training Rachel Heist and her talented LLF- bred mare, Cordelanne, for the past three years. I was originally cautious teaming such a young horse with my young student, but the Browns and their LLF team take such care in developing their young horses properly that it was never a problem. "Lucy" is a very talented, winning mare who – at only six years old -- took Rachel to Penn National last fall! As a trainer looking for a young horse, LLF is a 'must' first stop."

As July comes to a close, and our foaling and breeding season ends, we are turning our attention to starting this year's crop of 2 yr old's under saddle. This year, we have 3 fillies who will begin ground work, in preparation for backing, in late July. All 3 youngsters show great promise and we are looking forward to watching them develop.

This is Uptown Girl, the newest addition to our 2015 broodmare lineup. She is a 16.1 hand Dutch Warmblood generously donated to Last Laugh Farm by Bill and Eileen Yarborough of Saratoga and Wellington. Bill is a highly respected equine vet and Eileen has always considered "Abby" one of her personal favorites. This lovely mare has had extensive success in the show ring, guided by trainer Marcia Kulak ( also of Sarasota and Wellington) who arranged for Abby's new home at our farm. Abby's pedigree represents the best of Holstein and Selle Francais breeding, with special ties to Alme Z and Lord Z.
Grafin D, who was purchased in November of 2014 by Advanced/CCI3*** level event rider, Emily Rusinyak, competed at the training level in her first 3-Day Eventing show and proved to be talented in all three divisions.
Emily Rusinyak, an Advanced/CCI3*** level event rider located in Franklin, GA, has purchased Grafin D, our 6 year old mare by Graf Top II. "Roxy" is a talented athlete and is perfectly suited for 3-Day event competition. Thank you Emily for adding Roxy to your line-up!
Last Laugh Farm hosted the Pennsylvania ISR/Oldenburg NA Mare and Foal Inspection for the 8th consecutive year on Sunday, September 7th. Ekkehard Brysch, Director of the Registry, was the judge this year. We received two premium foal awards and all five of the foals we presented received complimentary scores. Our filly Elsbeth by Escudo II was reserve champion!
Congratulations to Rachel Heist and Cordelanne for taking first place in the 2014 State College Classic Derby. Rachel, who purchased Cordelanne as a 3 yr old, has also qualified for East Coast US Junior Hunter National Championships. Under the guidance of trainer Erin Knepper of Woodberry farm in York, PA Rachel and her mount have literally grown-up together.
After four colts, our first filly of the year arrived June 12th. Our champion-producing mare, My Pretty Echo, had a gorgeous filly by Ikoon. The arrival of Echo's foal is always met with great anticipation, as she never disappoints, and this time was no exception. "Lasaire" is sure to be another champion!
