Hopeworthy Lee by Noteworthy
At the urging of Ellen's aunt, Bette Hamilton, Hopeworthy Lee is the namesake of the 1940's standardbred trotter Hopeworthy Lee, owned by Ellen's grandfather. The first Hopeworthy Lee, ran the fastest mile at Roosevelt Raceway that year and also won the highest purse of the fall session. Tragically, he was killed in a freak collision with a vehicle on the track later in the year. Of course, Hopeworthy’s name is also very compatible with his sire Noteworthy.
